Free Fire OB54: Weapon and Mechanics Overhaul Reshapes the Meta

Free Fire's OB54 update, tied to the game's 9th Anniversary, brings changes that go well beyond cosmetics. The Shield Gun has been reworked entirely: instead of blocking 100% of incoming damage until its 128 shield points broke, it now provides a constant 5% damage reduction with unlimited shield points, trading a short burst of invulnerability for a longer, steadier defensive tool. The Upgraded Arsenal loot pool also shifted, dropping the FAMAS, Charge Buster and Kar98k in favor of the PARAFAL, MP40, M590 and the M82B sniper, alongside guaranteed level-3 vest and helmet sets. The Machete can now swing while sprinting, smoothing close-range transitions. On the interface side, weapon stat breakdowns are now visible directly from the backpack, training grounds and Clash Squad shop, and audio desync bugs on reload for the AK47, Desert Eagle and XM8 have been fixed. Two gameplay-logic changes stand out: picking up an upgraded version of your equipped weapon now swaps it in automatically, and Aim Assist strictly prioritizes an active enemy over a downed one when both overlap your reticle. Finally, hitboxes around the Nurek Dam bridge (Bermuda) and Grav Labs (NeXTerra) were cleaned up to remove an exploit that let players float unnaturally for an unfair angle, and window-vault animations are now smoother.
